Rope 101 Class Handout

Here are some resources for our Rope 101 class:

Lqqkout’s Rope 101 Handout – Please note the resource section (starting on the bottom of P13) is fairly out of date. Most of the companies, events and links on that list are no longer in business. But the first 13 pages are a great introductory guide.

MyNawashi A great source for economical well made jute

Rawganique If you’ve ever wanted to try to process your own hemp, this stuff is great, and honestly 95% of the way there. All I usually do is cut it, whip it, throw it in the washing machine and then give it 4 or 5 trips in the dryer to break it in a bit.

Your local hardware store If you just want to grab some quick rope to play with, Nylon from your local hardware store is great. Some also carry MFP. You want 1/4″ without a core (a core will make it much harder to tie).
