Introduction to Predicament Bondage Class Handout
Important Safety Considerations:
- Predicament bondage can cause strain in weird and unexpected ways – make sure to consider not just the body parts and joins you’d expect but injuries that could be issues elsewhere as well (for example a predicament that involves standing on tiptoes is going to strain hips, calves, ankles and other body parts).
- Predicament play often involves surprises and dynamic ties, but it’s important to negotiate all of the possibilities that might occur and be allowed, even if you’re not giving details
Fundamentals of Predicament Bondage:
The basic principle of predicament bondage is to create a scenario in which the bottom can shift and in doing so experience either different kinds of pain or other kinds of sensations (pain + pleasure, humiliation, something else).
In this class we will go over some inspirations and ideas on how to incorporate these into your own play. While not a rope class, a few introductory rope ties might be helpful and you can review the rope 101 handouts here:

An Inline Cuff (so you can tie both legs to a chair with a single piece of rope. This is unnecessary but can be useful in predicaments if you choose to do them with rope (video here)
